Metropolitan City of Milan and Safety21: together to educate young people on road safety

The project “Mi voglio sicurǝ” is being relaunched with new educational opportunities for high school students in the metropolitan city of Milan.

Contribute to the formation of responsible and aware young citizens: this is the objective of the project Mi Voglio Sicurǝ, realized in collaboration with Safety21 and with the advice of the Association Lorenzo Guarnieri ONLUS, Dedicated to all secondary schools in the territory.

The project is enriched by the Path for Transversal Skills and Guidance (PCTO), an e-learning training programme launched on 22 November, at the end of which it will release 30 hours of training credits. Students will explore key road safety issues such as the links between vehicles and infrastructure, risk perception and preventive action to reduce road hazards.

Starting this January 2025, the initiative will extend with classroom training sessions. The programme also includes project work which will enable students to earn an additional 15 hours of training credits by designing a social communication campaign to raise public awareness of road safety. The three best papers will be awarded by a jury of experts.

For us at Safety21 road safety is a priority, and it is important for us to support the Metropolitan City of Milan in this path, combining training and awareness. Spreading a road safety culture among the younger generation is crucial to educate all users, including pedestrians and cyclists, on compliance. Only through awareness of the risks associated with inappropriate driving behaviour can a genuine sense of citizenship towards road safety be developed.

“We are proud to contribute for the second year to a project that aims to educate young people on road safety through an innovative and engaging approach. It is essential to invest in the training of new generations to build a future where compliance with rules and prevention become shared values” said Gianluca Longo, CEO of Safety21 SpA

New Digital Platforms for innovative mobility in the municipality of Bergamo

The new website and app of the ATB group, Azienda Trasporti Bergamo, was presented today to the press.

Starting today, 12 June, the ATB Group’s new information platforms will be available. The project involved the re-engineering and modernisation of digital services, leading to the creation of an integrated platform for the management of digital content and info-mobility devices.

Safety21 confirms itself as a strategic partner of ATB, having successfully contributed to the plan for the improvement and digitalization of services for the issuance, management and monitoring of regulated parking and circulation badges for authorized vehicles in Bergamo’s Limited Traffic Zones. These solutions not only simplify processes and improve data interoperability at various levels, but also contribute substantially to urban safety, highlighting how technology can be a valuable ally in emergency management and accident prevention.

Learning to Drive Safely, Starting at School

The meetings of “Mi Voglio SicurƏ” continue, a training project that aims to raise awareness of the responsible driving of the Milan Metropolitan Safety Project.

The primary objective of this initiative is to spread a culture of road safety among the new generations, educating future motorists on the importance of respecting road rules and promoting a strong civic sense in terms of road safety.

The project was made possible thanks to the collaboration between Safety21 and the Metropolitan City of Milan, involving expert trainers from the Lorenzo Guarnieri Onlus Association, which has been active for over 10 years in the prevention of road violence, together with psychologists and psychotherapists specialized in the sector.

In the classroom on Wednesday 20 March, on the third morning of the course, the students of the fourth and fifth year of the ITCS Primo Levi and Erasmo da Rotterdam of Bollate were present, while in the fourth meeting held on Thursday 21 March, the students of the Carlo Emilio Gadda High School of Paderno Dugnano were involved.

In these first four mornings – the first two meetings were held on 24 and 25 January – almost 1,000 students from high schools managed by the Metropolitan City of Milan took part in “Mi Voglio SicurƏ”: the course, which through interactive quizzes, reflections and testimonials, allowed participants to create awareness and shared responsibility by highlighting the importance and value of respecting the rules of the highway code the dangers of distractions, alcohol and drugs on the road.

As in the previous edition, these two meetings were attended by Stefano Guarnieri, Vice President of the Lorenzo Guarnieri Association, Pieralessandro Scotti, Head of the Local Police of the Metropolitan City, Maria Gabriella Anania, Psychologist and Psychotherapist and expert in Traffic Psychology, and institutional representatives of the Metropolitan City of Milan and the institutions involved.

Road Safety and innovation

On Tuesday 5 March at the Higher School of Internal Administration (SSAI) in Rome, the seminar 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗘 𝗘 𝗢𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗜 𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗜𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗟’𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔’ 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗔𝗟𝗘 – 𝗟𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶, was held, promoted by the State Police and aimed at Managers and Representatives of the Prefectures of the Traffic and Municipal Police.

It was an important opportunity to discuss extensively the fundamental role of data collection in the fight against road accidents, focusing on timeliness, accuracy and simplification. Safety21 responds to this need by presenting iCam3D and Incidenti.Online, native digital solutions, already in use by the Local Police of Rome Capital, which allow all data to be provided in real time, allowing accident prevention and rapid, safe and complete data collection, streamlining and speeding up the management of road accidents.

Let’s get to know Incidenti.Online and iCam3D more closely: Incidenti.Online is an investigative-collaborative platform for the management of road accidents, which allows you to acquire and conclude the survey directly in the field in digital format.

Data connection, database querying, sharing and operational interconnection make it a collaborative and investigative platform as it helps the operator to identify perpetrators and vehicles already involved in previous accidents. In addition, it significantly reduces the time and units to be dedicated to the management of the claim

iCam3D, on the other hand, is the innovative solution that allows you to reconstruct the scene of a road accident in 3D and with AI applications in just a few minutes.

The main advantages of these state-of-the-art solutions? Interoperability, i.e. several agents can work in parallel on the same accident with an optimization of resources in the field and greater protection of the environment thanks to an 85% reduction in the time of activities related to the detection of a road accident, to the benefit of vehicular traffic and the queues that often form in these cases and therefore the quality of life of the city environment.

Technological innovation and digitalization of PA processes

iMoi srl, the latest new entry in the Safety21 group, won the award for best Project in the category Entrepreneurship in support of the PA: innovative solutions offered to PAs by startups and small businesses of the Digital Agenda of the Digital Innovation Observatories of the Polytechnic of Milano.Il IncidentiOnline project obtained the highest score for the high degree of relevance and replicability as well as technological innovation. What is it about? We are talking about the IncidentiOnline project, a collaborative and investigative platform that allows you to conclude the survey of an accident directly in the field in digital format, and iCam3D, the innovative system for detecting, metric, planimetric and photographic 3D assessment of road accidents, which allows a reduction in the time required for the detection of accidents and the interoperability of data on several levels. Innovation and digitalization thanks to cutting-edge technologies capable of optimizing the work of police bodies in the management of road accidents.
