In the classroom, this morning, December 10, 2025, for the first day of the school year, 150 students from the Carlo Porta professional institute in Milan.
The training course “Mi voglio sicurǝ” was held this morning at the Carlo Porta State Professional Institute for Food and Wine Services and Hotel Hospitality in Milan, which the Metropolitan City of Milan addresses to students in the fourth and fifth year of high school, to raise awareness among young people towards a new culture of mobility: safer, more aware and responsible.
The training program is part of the Milan Metropolitan Safety Project carried out by Safety21 in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Milan, for the reduction of accidents and the achievement of the European strategic goal “2050 Zero victims on the roads” and is organized with the contribution of the Lorenzo Guarnieri Onlus Association, for over 10 years at the forefront in the prevention of road violence and with the support of expert trainers, psychologists and Local Police. A well-tested format, this year in its third edition, which is based on an interactive training approach, which seeks confrontation with young people. There are several voices in the field, the only purpose: to educate future motorists on the importance of respecting the rules, and to develop and cultivate a civic feeling towards road safety.
During the morning, reflections, tests and testimonies alternated, to focus on the value of the rules of the highway code and above all the risks associated with distractions, the effects of alteration by alcohol and drugs in road traffic. The meeting saw the institutional intervention of Daniela Caputo, Councilor Delegate for Infrastructure and Metrotramways of the Metropolitan City of Milan, as well as contributions (by Giulia Tincani, trainer of La Fabbrica) / of the trainer of La Fabbrica, who addressed issues such as the role of the road in our lives and the perception of risk.
The students were also provided with practical elements of road safety by the Commander of the Local Police of the Metropolitan City of Milan, Pieralessandro Scotti, who illustrated the main safety rules and the risks associated with distraction and the effects of alcohol and drug alteration in road traffic.
In closing, the focus shifted to the theme of language and communication, highlighting the importance of a conscious and effective approach in transmitting messages.
According to Daniela Caputo, councilor delegated to Infrastructure and Metrotramways of the Metropolitan City: “Road fatalities are an unacceptable loss for the whole society. Working to increase road safety is one of our priorities, a goal that we are trying to achievealso through the awareness of the younger generations. There are thousands of students I have met over the years and I have always found great interest and active participation in these important issues. Making travel along the roads safer is possible, but we need a broad alliance that sees the protagonism of all the actors involved“.
“The education of young people is the most effective and concrete tool we have to try to make a road mobility system safer, which, in Italy, has eight victims per yearday – said Stefano Guarnieri Founder of the Lorenzo Guarnieri Association – Our commitment and our hope is that this course can really contribute to developing a solid culture of safety in boys and girls: a heritage of awareness and respect that, we hope, will not only be useful when they are on the road, but that can accompany them in all the choices of their lives“.
Also for the current school year, moreover, the multi-year educational program “Mi voglio sicurǝ” provides, in addition to the in-person training event, the possibility for young people to join a PCTO (Path for Transversal Skills and Orientation) course that will issue students with 30 hours of training credits, deepening key topics such as the links between vehicles and infrastructures, risk perception and preventive actions to reduce hazards on the roads. There are already 18 schools in the area that have joined the continuation of the online course.
A future without fatalities on the roads is possible. “Mi voglio sicurǝ” represents a concrete step towards this goal, promoting among young people a culture of responsibility and respect for the rules, fundamental values for safer and more sustainable mobility.
A new alliance for road and environmental safety presented at the Italian Embassy in Lisbon
Lisbon, October 20, 2025 – The Italian Embassy in Lisbon hosted an event dedicated to presenting the partnership between Safety21, an Italian company leading in technological services for road safety, and Eurosistra, a key player in Portugal in road safety restoration and environmental protection following accidents.
The event, held in a space devoted to institutional dialogue and international cooperation, represented an important opportunity for discussion on innovation serving road safety and environmental sustainability, marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration between two complementary organizations strongly focused on technological progress.
This alliance arises in response to an increasingly urgent European challenge: reducing road accidents, in line with the European Union’s Vision Zero Directive, which aims to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries by 2050, with an intermediate target of halving them by 2030.
In Portugal, the issue is particularly significant: in 2023 there were 60.8 deaths per million inhabitants, a figure higher than the EU average (45.6). In 2024 alone, over 134,000 accidents, including 36,789 with victims, highlighted the need for targeted prevention, monitoring, and risk management measures.
Through this partnership, Safety21 brings its 15 years of experience and its AI-based digital solutions, capable of analyzing traffic data in real time, identifying risk areas, and acting predictively to prevent accidents.
Founded in 2012 and operating in over 100 Portuguese municipalities, Eurosistra – Segurança e Ambiente contributes with solid expertise in the rapid and sustainable restoration of road safety conditions, reducing environmental impact and supporting local authorities and public bodies in protecting citizens.
“This collaboration represents a concrete step towards achieving Vision Zero also in Portugal,” said Paolo Tommasini, Country Manager Spain & Portugal at Safety21. “It demonstrates how digital innovation and artificial intelligence can become key tools in preventing accidents and protecting people and the environment.”
“Reducing road accidents to save lives,” stated Giovanni Deleo, President and Founder of Eurosistra Portugal – Segurança e Ambiente, “also requires concrete preventive actions and effective post-accident safety restoration, in full compliance with regulations and environmental preservation.”
During the evening, guests had the opportunity to discover, in exclusive preview, some technological solutions later presented at Segurex 2025, the safety trade fair held from October 21 to 23 at the FIL – Lisbon International Fair.
The event concluded with a shared awareness that only through technology, cooperation, and environmental responsibility will it be possible to build a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable safety model for the cities of the future.
On Saturday 28 June, the Belvedere Resentello will be the setting for the “Junior Bikers – Dream Experience”, an event designed to bring children and young people aged 6 to 12 closer to the culture of road safety. The initiative, promoted as part of the “I Love You – Safe Ventimiglia” project by SPV21 Ventimiglia in collaboration with the City of Ventimiglia, offers an educational, playful and inclusive afternoon, capable of combining learning and fun.
Through direct experiences and moments of structured play, the young participants will have the opportunity to discover the importance of the rules of the road, internalizing them in a spontaneous and engaging way. The planned activities, supervised by expert operators, include routes on electric minibikes, sessions dedicated to the knowledge of road rules and first aid demonstrations by the White Cross of Imperia. A valuable opportunity to learn, but also to develop greater awareness of the correct behaviors to adopt as pedestrians, cyclists or future drivers.
The event will also offer the opportunity to support the 2Nove9 association, committed to supporting the victims of road accidents, thanks to the patronage of the Ventimiglia Lions Club and the official Sanremo Lions Clubs of Italy. The contribution of numerous local partners, including the MBS Sanremo Moto Club – promoter of the #GuidoBeneGuidoSicuro training project – Ducati, Croce Bianca Imperia and the Lions Clubs was fundamental to the realization of the initiative.
The “Junior Bikers – Dream Experience” thus represents an event with a strong educational and civic value, designed to convey to the new generations the value of responsibility and safety, from the earliest years of life.
